Mezcal Vago Espadin

Don Joel Barriga is a third generation distiller in Tapanala, Oaxaca. His ranch sits high in the arid Sierra Sur mountains. His production methods produce one of the brightest, fruit-forward mezcals in Vago's lineup. Produced the artesenal way, this expression uses 100% Espadín roasted in earthen ovens, crushed with a stone tahona, dry then wet fermented in wooden vats, and double-distlled in fully copper stills. Known for the bright profile, this expression has bold tasting notes of honey, tropical fruits, caramalized banana, lime pulp, mint, thyme, and lemon peel.
